Masonic Villages at Sewickley is currently accepting applications for Resident Care Assistant/CNA Training opportunity Full Time Days including every other weekend and Full Time Evenings including every other weekend. 

  • Candidates will first be hired and work as a Resident Care Assistant (RCA) before acceptance into the CNA Training Program!
  • Candidates will also work as a RCA while attending training.
  • This is a paid opportunity for candidates to work as a RCA and attend CNA Training.
  • You must be available for all sessions for the entire program.
  • After successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the PA Certified Nursing Assistant Examination.
  • Upon achieving certification, RCA's will transition to the role of a Certified Nursing Assistant at Masonic Villages at Sewickley.

What You'll Do:

As a Resident Care Assistant/CNA Trainee, you will carry out our Mission of Love by performing various resident care activities and related non-professional nursing services while ensuring the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continued education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Our Resident Care Assistants/CNA Trainee are responsible for the following:

Assist residents during meals as indicated and assisting residents in enabling them to feed themselves when possible, serving meals and cleaning the dining room. Replenish ice and water in resident rooms as needed. Serve between meal nourishments and assist those who require help.


  • Transport residents using a wheelchair or specialty wheelchairs (Broda chair, High-back chair, Tilt-in-Space, etc.) to activities or special appointments, i.e., PT, Podiatry, Beauty Shop, etc. This would include Therapeutic communication and activities with residents.
  • Store and pass clean linen. Distribute clean personal laundry to appropriate residents and place the clothing in drawers or closets. Dispose of soiled linen.  Assist in keeping residents rooms neat, (make beds) replenish personal care items as needed.
  • Observe residents and answer call bells in a timely manner to determine residents' needs. Take appropriate action as requested or required by the situation.
  • Assist in cleaning and replacing equipment used on the nursing neighborhood, i.e., bedpans, urinals, wheelchairs, lifts, geri-chairs, toothbrush holders, basins, and emesis basins, etc. according to policy.
  • Respond to Fire and Disaster alarms and drills according to procedures. Assist residents to safety during an evacuation.
  • Direct visitors, answer telephone and run errands as directed.
  • Participate in in-service education programs, floor conferences and nursing staff meetings.

What You Definitely Have:

  • High School graduate preferred but not essential.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.
